About the trainer
Allie Outram is a BACP accredited counsellor, CBT-E practitioner, author and advocate in the field of eating disorders. A Beat Media Volunteer, and member of the BACP Expert Panel for eating disorders, she is familiar to many from her media appearances, and newspaper and magazine articles. She is passionate about challenging the stereotypes and stigma that people with eating disorders face; campaigns for better services and treatment, and provides information, support and encouragement to those seeking treatment and recovery. She runs a successful private practice (www.allieoutram.co.uk).
Having overcome a life threatening eating disorder herself, Allie brings insight into the complexities of this tenacious and notoriously difficult to treat illness. In this training she will share some of her own experience and outline some of the psychological, biological and social risk factors that increase the likelihood of an eating disorder developing, together with the behaviours and traits which can be challenged and changed.
