Our Made for Giving event is coming up next month, so we thought we’d give you a little sneak peak of some of the artists’ work. Over the next few weeks we’ll be sharing some words from the artists themselves on what inspires their work and how they view the link between creativity and mental health. Today we’re introducing Julie Procter…
I layer my artwork, using collage, acrylic paints then pastels, followed by a fixative to seal. Nature inspires me. Nature calms me. I take photos of what I see and like, then recreate the image in my style. I definitely see a link between creativity and mental health. Creative self-expression releases emotional blockages. There is then a sense of freedom to live and laugh again.
Come along to Made for Giving to see more of Julie’s work and the work of some other fantastic artists! Friday 8th November (Preview from 7-9pm) and Saturday 9th November (from 10am-4pm.) Invite your friends and let us know that you’re coming on our Facebook event page.
