EXPLORING THE EMOTIONAL MEANING OF FOOD
A one-day course to discover the links between physical and emotional experiences of food and eating
Through a variety of activities, we will explore how and why we use food to express what we feel and how this applies to personal and/or professional life.
This course will help you:
- Learn about hunger and appetite
- Appreciate the emotional impact and meaning of food
- Recognise the multiple ways in which food is used emotionally
- Understand why we use food to express emotion
- Learn how eating patterns develop
- Identify and promote the positive purposes of food
Who this course is for:
- Anyone who would like to explore the topic – we all have a relationship with food
- Counsellors – working with clients to explore self and relationships. CPD certificates available
- Slimming club clients – gaining understanding and perspective re food and eating
- Parents – feeding families
- Students on catering courses – enhancing training
- Professionals in the food and catering business – improving customer service
This training is valid for CPD and certificates will be available if requested.
Practical Details
Date- Saturday 2 November, 9.30am – 4.30pm
Venue- Bilton Community Centre, Bilton Lane, Harrogate
Fee- £60 (this includes handouts)
