Cost: early bird: £60 if booked and paid for by 13 Sept. £75 thereafter. Prices are inclusive of VAT, CPD certificate and light refreshments (no lunch provided). 10% discount on prices for students and for group bookings of 3 or more when booked together. Aims
- To increase awareness and knowledge of the causes, risk factors, signs and symptoms of eating disorders.
- To explore and develop an understanding of the psychological root that underlies the presenting behaviour.
- To develop assessment and formulation skills with this client group, within a cognitive behavioural framework.
The workshop will be practical and interactive. A variety of experiential exercises and case studies will be used to emphasise the main areas covered.
About the trainer
Allie Outram is a BACP accredited counsellor, CBT-E practitioner, author and advocate in the field of eating disorders. A Beat Media Volunteer, and member of the BACP Expert Panel for eating disorders, she is familiar to many from her media appearances, and newspaper and magazine articles. She is passionate about challenging the stereotypes and stigma that people with eating disorders face; campaigns for better services and treatment, and provides information, support and encouragement to those seeking treatment and recovery. She runs a successful private practice (www.allieoutram.co.uk).
