Will you take on the One-Day Lockdown Challenge and raise vital funds for Wellspring Therapy & Training?
#givingtuesdaynow is a global day of giving and unity taking place on the 5th May. It’s a day for us all to show how much we appreciate those key workers who have played such an important role over the last weeks and months and to those charities who are always there working on the important issues that make such a difference in all our lives. With the economic downturn and fundraising events cancelled, charities need help now more than ever.
Although Wellspring’s capacity is greatly reduced at the moment, we still have a team of counsellors offering much-needed online and phone counselling. Our services are becoming increasingly important during these challenging times. Could you support us by taking on one of these simple lockdown challenges at home for 12 or 24 hours and ask your friends and family to sponsor you?
- Stay home and stay awake for 24 hours! This idea started with 13 year old Joe who decided he would stay awake to raise money for Wellspring for 24 hours. Can you do the same? Jo aimed to raise £200 but due to his community’s generosity raised over £2000!
- Give up something unhealthy for 24 hours – whether it’s alcohol, sugary snacks, TV or some other comfort food.
- Walk, run, do star jumps…. Staying physically fit also keeps us mentally well! Could you do 100 star-jumps every hour of the day? Or walk or run for 12-24 hours in your garden or round your neighbourhood in the space of 1 week? (Please just remember to follow government guidelines.)
- Or get creative and come up with your own one-day lockdown challenge!
It only takes a few mins to set up a Facebook Fundraiser or Virgin Money Giving page. Thank you for helping us to support people experiencing emotional distress, so that they can find new hope and healing. We’d love to hear what you get up to on GivingTuesdayNow and the weeks that follow! You can get in touch to tell us about your lockdown challenge at communications@wellspringtherapy.co.uk
